The Hamilton Holt Foundation awarded scholarships to three distinguished Bibb County high school seniors this year. On June 6 Hamilton Hope board chairman Mike Leonard presented scholarships to Sarah Beth Heath, Moshopefuluwa Olagunju and Adreanna Chester.
Sarah Beth Heath, shown with Mike and her parents, is a 2017 graduate of Tatnall Square Academy. She was valedictorian of her graduating class. Sarah served on the Ronald McDonald team board helping with housecleaning, fundraising and preparation of meals. She also has served at Splash Macon, painting and re-roofing houses. In 2017 Sarah was named Bibb County's Distinguished Young Woman and at the subsequent state competition she earned the highest scholastic award. In addition, Sarah was selected as a Cherry Blossom Princess. In the fall of 2017 Sarah will attend the University of Georgia
Adreanna Chester, shown with her mother and Mike, is a 2017 graduate of Mount de Sales Academy. She has been very active in service to our community, volunteering her services to patients at the Navicent Health Heart Center, assisting the veterinarian at the 4-H Rabies Clinic, tutoring first graders at Alexander II and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. In the fall of 2017 Adreanna will attend Wesleyan College.
Moshopefuluwa (Shope) Olagunju, shown with his father and Mike, is a 2017 graduate of Central High School. Shope was an International Baccalaureate student and he was dually enrolled in classes at Middle Georgia State University. He has volunteered at Navicent Medical Center assisting physical therapists in the Rehabilitation Department, reviewing patient files for pertinent medical history and consulting with the therapists. In the fall of 2017 Shope will attend Bard College in New York majoring in Biology.
Kiwanis Club of Macon is pleased to recognize these three outstanding young people for their accomplishments and to assist with their further education by awarding them these Hamilton Hope Foundation scholarships.
