The Hamilton Holt Foundation awarded scholarships to five distinguished high school graduates this year - more than double the normal number. On May 28 Sam McDuffie presented scholarships to Sarah David and Timothy Lewis; on June 11 Jim David presented a scholarship to Caroline Avant; and on June 18 he awarded two more scholarships to Nicolas Laconico and Valerie Martinez.
All of these students exhibited exemplary scholarship and leadership talents in their high school careers. Kiwanis Club of Macon congratulates these five outstanding young citizens.
Sarah David is a graduate of Howard High. She plans to attend Georgia College and State University majoring in optometry.
Timothy Lewis is a graduate of Howard High. He plans to attend Mercer University majoring in economics.
Caroline Avant is a graduate of Stratford Academy and plans to attend the University of Georgia majoring in health promotions.
Nicolas Laconico is a Mount de Sales graduate. He will attend Georgia Tech majoring in biomedical engineering.
Valerie Martinez, another Mount de Sales graduate, will be an international business major at the University of Georgia.
